WATCH: The latest LEGO House set celebrates 45 years of minifigures

The 2023 LEGO House exclusive set celebrates 45 years of minifigures by embracing an interesting scale for Captain Redbeard.

Available from March 1 exclusively the Billund attraction for 599 DKK, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute has been officially revealed, marking 45 years since the invention of LEGO minifigures. You can find out more about this new model by watching our latest video on YouTube, TikTok or both.

40504 A Minifigure Tribute recreates LEGO Pirates’ Captain Redbeard at the same scale seen in 76393 Harry Potter and Hermione Granger but with more detail thanks to a brick-built design on its torso.

An unboxing video revealed since its announcement has also confirmed that 40504 A Minifigure Tribute only has two stickers with the face and nameplate pieces being printed.

Only those able to get to Billund will be able to pick up 40504 A Minifigure Tribute on March 1, unless you resort to the secondary market where prices could be higher. This huge Captain Redbeard isn’t the first buildable minifigure, but others have been smaller.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
