Watch: LEGO Marvel’s Morbius is a meme gone too far
Following one of the most ‘memorable’ movies of all time, a Morbius minifigure is coming to LEGO Marvel in 2023 as the meme continues.
Say what you will about Morbius but the April 2022 film has become an icon of internet culture, for better or worse. The memes that have arrived in the months following its release have been equally nonsensical and savage, and so influential that they may have inspired the first Morbius minifigure.
First teased in 76178 The Daily Bugle, Morbius is included alongside Miles Morales in 76244 Miles Morales vs. Morbius. You can take a closer look at this upcoming creation in our new video, available on both YouTube and TikTok.
At first, your reaction to this set may be that this Morbius is based on the comics, and you would be correct. The cinematic version of Morbius has no explicit minifigure but two included bottles suggest that the film has inspired at least part of this model. One is filled with a red liquid, no points for guessing what the vampire may be consuming from it though.
The other features a blue liquid inside, matching the artificial blue blood that was able to temporarily hold off Morbius’ hunger in the film. There’s no particular reason to include it in 76244 Miles Morales vs. Morbius, other than a reference to the film and the memes.
