Why everyone should take note of LEGO Minifigures Series 29

LEGO Minifigures Series 29 is out now, and here’s why even fans with no interest in minifigures should find a place in their heart for this range.

The 12 new characters in 71052 Series 29 are certain to appeal to hardcore collectors of these various minifigure ranges, but there’s plenty for those with little to no interest in collectable minifigures, too. A member of the Brick Fanatics team with a casual interest in these minifigures recently shared their ranking of 71052 Series 29, acknowledging that there are a few reasons for them to enjoy the range.

Here are a few of the reasons that convinced them to take some interest in 71052 Series 29, and why other casual fans should give the range a closer look. Brick Search is available for iOS devices from the App Store, and for Android devices from the Google Play Store. It will be a helpful tool in finding specific minifigures in 71052 Series 29, with codes now ready in the app.

The new pieces and recolours

71052 Series 29 is packed with new elements. This includes new hair combination pieces, a minifigure-sized Bionicle mask, and a returning instrument with a refreshed look. Casual fans with a wider interest in LEGO will want to look through these useful elements to see which ones they want to collect, even if it means only picking up one or two minifigures.

The decorations

Fans of printed LEGO parts will find some interesting additions in 71052 Series 29, too. There’s an underwater notepad ideal for aquatic displays and a printed football that can be used easily outside of this series. Some of the new minifigure printed parts are going to be handy to have, as well. That includes the Robot T. rex’s lense face print.

Bionicle’s latest return

We can’t ignore the biggest part of 71052 Series 29’s appeal. Bionicle is back in the new series, but this time as a minifigure. The Bionicle Cosplayer merges the worlds of Bionicle and Cosplay together into one minifigure, featuring a great many references for the theme’s enthusiasts to enjoy. It will be hard to ignore this minifigure.

…and something for the NINJAGO fans, too

It’s not just Bionicle that has made a surprising cameo in 71052 Series 29. NINJAGO has a spot for the theme’s 15th anniversary, too. The Mysterious Ronin will be familiar to NINJAGO enthusiasts, featuring a part in brown that has been long-awaited, which they will want to amass.

71052 Series 29 is out now, and you can use Brick Search to find the specific characters you have in mind. Get caught up on all 12 minifigures in our individual spotlight stories, featured in the list below.

Jack Yates

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
