LEGO Star Wars Han Solo movie launch date rumoured
Brick Fanatics has received information suggesting that the LEGO Star Wars range for the Han Solo stand alone movie will launch on April 20, 2018.
The Han Solo stand alone movie, currently untitled, is the second such film since Lucasfilm was acquired by Disney, following Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The smuggler origin movie has been through a difficult production, with Ron Howard brought in by Lucasfilm to replace directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller – also directors of The LEGO Movie – with just a few weeks of shooting to go.
Despite the production woes, the release date is still currently scheduled for 25 May 2018, which would put the LEGO – and presumably wider – merchandise launch just a month ahead of the movie. This is unusual in recent years, but is similar to how the merchandise was rolled out for the prequels.
The release date remains a rumour until confirmed by the LEGO Group or Lucasfilm.
