25% off retiring LEGO 10255 Assembly Square at John Lewis

John Lewis has knocked a huge 25% off the retiring LEGO modular building 10255 Assembly Square, bringing it down to its lowest price in months.

The 10th-anniversary modular building has been on shelves since 2017, but is finally scheduled to retire by the end of this year. If you want to get your hands on the supersized model, which sits across a 48×32 footprint (rather than the standard 32×32 base for modular buildings), you’ll need to act soon – and there might never be a better time than now, thanks to the latest John Lewis LEGO sale.

10255 Assembly Square normally retails for £259.99 in the UK – an £80 increase on its launch price in 2017, as part of the LEGO Group’s wider price increases in 2022 – but is available at John Lewis right now for just £194.99. That’s a £65 saving all in all, which brings the 4,002-piece set almost back down to its original RRP. For the amount of LEGO in the box, it’s tough to argue with.

Consider, for example, that this is now cheaper than the RRP of recent modular buildings like 10297 Boutique Hotel and 10312 Jazz Club, while including roughly 1,000 more pieces than either of those sets. At that point, it would be rude to say no – whether you’re buying your first copy or your fourth. There are plenty of alternative builds on Rebrickable to justify snapping up extras, while the history of modular buildings tells us it should be a safe bet for investors, too.

The sprawling 10255 Assembly Square includes eight minifigures to populate its bakery, café, music shop, florist, dentist, photography studio and more, and is marked as ‘hard to find’ at John Lewis. There’s every chance this might be the best discount for this set before it retires – it was last seen this cheap back in April – so don’t hang around if it’s caught your eye.

Buy 10255 Assembly Square from John Lewis for just £194.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
