75098 Assault on Hoth official press release

The next D2C Exclusive, LEGO® Star Wars™ Assault on Hoth™, will officially be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair on Saturday, February 13 at 7:00am EST.  We had to hold off for ½ hour as an online media outlet had the exclusive rights to unveil it first.

After the Toy Fair, the set will also go on display at Play Fair in New York City for the remainder of the weekend.

The product page should be planned to go up as “Coming Soon” on shop.LEGO.com by EOD Tuesday, February 16th due to the weekend and the US office being closed on Monday. The launch of this set will be on April 30th – the start of the May the 4th promotion globally. There will be no VIP Early Access.

This fantastic LEGO® recreation of the Rebel force’s Echo Base from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back has all the details you need to create your own epic ice-planet battles. Set out on scouting missions with the Snowspeeder armed with twin spring-loaded shooters, and when you spot the enemy speeder bike, get back to base and help Luke, Han and the other Rebel heroes lock down the blast doors, ready the laser cannons, man the gun turrets with dual spring-loaded shooters and power up the devastating ion cannon, also with 2 spring-loaded shooters!

    Poor set for the BIG price tag Looks like what you would get from the “deluxe” Star Wars Advent calendar.

    A little too bitty for my tastes. The bits look good, but it’s not cohesive enough.

    Although, I have to feel sorry for the two (two?!) snowtroopers who have clearly been sent on a suicide mission…

    Personally i’m really disappointed. I’m sick of the constant LEGO Hoth sets from the last few years and now here they’re all in one $250 box!
    It would’ve been super cool to just get a super detailed AT-AT and maybe an in-scale shield generator with a bunch of figs. That would have been UCS worthy! But this looks like a standard $90 set compared to the Ewok Village last year :/
