Toys R Us Canada may survive current turmoil
The toy manufacturer, MGA Entertainment, has submitted a proposal to rescue the Canadian arm of Toys R Us.
As Toys R Us in the USA goes into liquidation, MGA Entertainment has put in a bid for the Canadian part of the business. Toy News reports that the CEO of MGA Entertainment, Isaac Larian, has put in a bid and told the website, “Toys R Us Canada is good business.”
“They run it efficiently, and have good leadership. At the right price, it makes economical sense,” Larian told Toy News. It is understood that certain US stores may also form part of the new company that would emerge, should MGA’s bid be successful. If the offer is accepted, Canada may be the only country with a chain of Toys R US stores.
MGA Entertainment has been riding high recently after the success of LOL Surprise, the latest craze that has taken toy retail by storm.
