LEGO fan builds impressive working camera
A photographer and LEGO fan has built a working film camera using LEGO bricks.
Helen Sham has decided to submit more than just an attractive LEGO build to LEGO Ideas, but something rather functional and clever. Combining her photography hobby with her brick interest, she has constructed a working film camera.
DIY film camera have become increasingly popular for photographers who still enjoy working in the medium, but of course not usually constructed from LEGO elements. Helen’s replica Hasselblad 503CX Film Camera is currently seeking support on LEGO Ideas, and has been picked up by a few photography websites impressed with her design.
It is not entirely made out of authentic pieces, with a glass lens added and a spring in the shutter button – there is surprisingly little that is not brick built in this 1,120 piece model.
To support the project, sign in at the LEGO Ideas website and search for user ‘helenfigures’.
