The LEGO Movie 2 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! set name revealed

A huge new set may be coming for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, named 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg!.

The LEGO set cataloguers at Brickset have listed a previously unknown set as part of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part theme, 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg!. Given that the website lists the part count at 3,178 pieces, this is going to be a big, impressive set. It is also tagged by the website as D2C, meaning it will be exclusive to shop.LEGO.com, as is typical for sets of that size.

Exactly what is included in the set is unknown, but given the trailers for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part released so far, it could incorporate any amount of the destroyed Bricksburg – dilapidated streets, Wyldstyle’s lookout tower or the post-apocalyptic coffee shop.

Although no description is available, Brickset has tagged the set with the categories Justice League, Master Builders, Police, Restaurant and Statue. Justice League suggests that some of the DC characters will be included, Master Builders suggests that some of the core creative builders from The LEGO Movie will be back and Restaurant is fairly self explanatory. Statue could mean a specific monument from Apocalypseburg!, or the broader wrecked Statue of Liberty.

Hopefully it will not be too long before more information about what is sure to be centrepiece set will be revealed.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will be released in February 2019.
