Twycross Zoo to host LEGO Big Cats exhibit
This summer, Twycross Zoo will host a LEGO Big Cats exhibit made up accurate statues built using bricks.
Twycross Zoo, located in the Midlands, UK, will host a LEGO Big Cats exhibit this summer. It will run from July 13 until September 2, included in the regular admission price.
The big cats theme coincides with the introduction of two critically endangered Sumatran tigers to the zoo, housed in an all-new bespoke habitat. At 3,000m², it is one of the largest purpose built homes for Sumatran tigers in the UK. They will also be viewable for the public on July 13.
It follows last year’s Bright Bricks exhibit at the zoo, with these two displays part of a trend of zoological societies across the UK and USA displaying LEGO exhibitions. Twelve big cat builds will make up the exhibit, which use a total of 732,882 LEGO elements and took 2,361 hours to construct. The largest is Tonya the tiger, which is made of 87,000 bricks and took 220 hours to build.
LEGO Big Cats will be at Twycross Zoo from July 13, 2019 until September 2, 2019. Tickets to visit can be booked at the attraction’s official website.
