LEGO fan builds hometown while in lockdown
A LEGO fan living in Canada has built his hometown of Watford, UK, while stuck in lockdown.
Coronavirus measures are impacting people around the world, with Canada having been under social distancing measures for a couple of weeks. Sean Power, a LEGO fan who now lives in Toronto, has spent the time stuck inside building a replica of Watford, Hertfordshire – his hometown in the UK.
“There are lots of lovely old buildings that stand out,” he told the BBC. He had the idea to build the location when visiting his mother last year.
He has included key details in the model, he explained: “Jackson’s jewellers, Clements and Monmouth House, and I think the flyover is a pretty unique feature and we included the mini market
With more time inside on the agenda, the LEGO fan has started to plan his next build. “We are thinking of building a Toronto street scene with the CN Tower, and I would like to do a British seaside scene with a classic pier, maybe Brighton or similar.”
