Compare LEGO Star Wars 4479 TIE Bomber with newcomer 75347 TIE Bomber
See LEGO Star Wars 4479 TIE Bomber compared to 75347 TIE Bomber side by side, ahead of the new set’s upcoming release.
Looking closely at key details like price, minifigure design, and interactive capabilities, LEGO YouTuber MandRproductions has compared the upcoming LEGO Star Wars release for 2023, 75347 TIE Bomber, to its counterpart from 20 years before, 4479 TIE Bomber.
The main takeaways come down to more modern capabilities, like more details on moulded helmets and wider variety in arm and leg printing. You can also see the three functions of the set (a pilot area, a shooting capability, and a bombing feature) in action on both 4479 and 75347 in MandRproductions‘ video, available to watch via the embed link below.
The size of the two sets is very similar, but the actual design differs widely between the two. From the colour to the sculpting details on the wings, the design of the TIE Bomber has been changed up significantly in the updated set.
While both sets have their own pros and cons, winning over the other in different areas, MandRProductions ultimately comes down on the side of 75347 TIE Bomber.
“The 2003 TIE Bomber, while a classic for LEGO Star Wars, is not better than what they’re offering in 2023,” the LEGO YouTube concludes. “This is a massive improvement, it’s certainly worth the upgrade if you own the original, or if you’ve always wanted a TIE Bomber, worth a purchase in general.”
