Marvel star Jonathan Majors arrested over allegations of assault

Jonathan Majors, who portrays Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been arrested in New York City for allegedly assaulting a woman.

As reported by Deadline, Majors’ charges include strangulation and harassment as a police statement notes that a 33-year-old male was in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman.

“The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.” reads a statement from the Deputy Commissioner Public Information.

“He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.” said a representative of Majors speaking to Deadline.

Jonathan Majors has been featured in some high-profile movie roles as of late, including Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in the first season of Loki, then starring in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Rumours suggest that he’s also currently set to feature in the second season of Loki and with the title of the next Avengers film being Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, another appearance may be expected.

The future of Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet to be confirmed following these allegations and the arrest. Following Ezra Miller’s arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment in 2022, there were reports of their future as the Flash in the DCU following one of three strategies. This later saw confirmation of Miller seeking professional help for mental health issues.
