WATCH: Mario vs Sonic: the LEGO retirement race is on
LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone just got given an extra life, so will be on the market for a little longer.
Although the Blue Blur’s set had previously been planned to retire later in 2023, a second look by the LEGO Group has pushed its retirement date back to December, 2024. This will see it head out alongside the other more recent LEGO Sonic sets.
We dug into more of the details of the LEGO Group’s gaming sets, as more of them have also had their retirements delayed. This could be due to a surge of interest in retro or gaming models, potentially thanks to the popular release of 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade.
Ultimately, it’s clear that the LEGO Group is putting a greater focus on sets based around iconic video games. Hear more about the race to retirement between Mario and Sonic in our latest YouTube video.
