Every LEGO set launching on June 1, 2022

June 1 is a huge release day for new LEGO sets, so here’s a comprehensive round-up of everything coming our way next week.

While the LEGO Group has staggered the launch of its sets beyond the main January 1 and June 1 release windows in recent years, those two days still mark the biggest influx of new products on shelves in one go – and that means they require the most planning when it comes to balancing your LEGO budget.

Whether you’re focused intently on a single theme or would rather cherry-pick the best of the best from across the wider LEGO portfolio, here’s a complete rundown of every single LEGO set launching in the UK and Europe as of June 1. (Availability in the US and other regions may vary, so it’s worth clicking through sets you’re interested in to find specific release dates.)

LEGO for Adults / Creator Expert

The LEGO Group’s first-ever partnership with rival toy manufacturer Hasbro has produced one of the best Creator Expert sets in recent memory, finally – and unexpectedly – bringing Transformers into the fold with 10302 Optimus Prime. Check out our verdict on the 1,508-piece set (which really transforms!), then dive into the full story of how it came to be. (Once you’ve ordered your copy, of course.)

LEGO Architecture

Perhaps the only LEGO Architecture you’ll want to buy twice, 21058 The Great Pyramid of Giza journeys back through history to recreate one half of one of the ancient wonders of the world. The diorama built at the base of the pyramid adds life and colour to what could have otherwise been a fairly dull triangle, while the Technic pins at the back should make it relatively simple to double up. Just remember to switch out the second Nile for some sand…

LEGO Art

LEGO Art diverges from its current path of mosaics, mosaics and more mosaics with a brick-built recreation of The Rolling Stones’ classic tongue and lips logo this month. It’s an unusual but welcome direction for the theme, and hopefully a sign of more inventive and interesting sets to come. For now, though, it’s also a great set in its own right – check out our review for more.

31206 The Rolling Stones£129.99 / $149.99 / €149.991,998N/A

LEGO BrickHeadz

The rate at which LEGO BrickHeadz sets are landing on shelves has slowed considerably from the theme’s early years, but ardent collectors will still find something to spend their cash on this month in the form of a new LEGO Harry Potter-themed four-pack.

40560 Professors of Hogwarts£39.99 / $39.99 / €39.99601N/A

LEGO CITY

It’s a big month for LEGO CITY, with new Stuntz sets, trains, a farming subtheme – that traces the entire process, from farm to table, with a new grocery store in the mix – and the launch of a new Missions subtheme, which abandons traditional instructions in favour of story-driven building.

In the market for massive boxes of bricks? Either or both of this month’s brand new LEGO Classic releases should be on your radar – especially if you’re keen on space-themed builds.

LEGO Creator 3-in-1

LEGO Vikings is the latest theme to make a triumphant return through the lens of Creator 3-in-1 sets, as 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent channels the energy of a 2005 set with a very similar name. Elsewhere, another mini-modular seems ripe for combining multiples into a bigger build, while a third and final set dives deep beneath the waves.

LEGO Disney

With little fanfare and without much in the way of commotion, LEGO Disney is trundling along just fine in June 2022, bringing two new sets – inspired by Frozen and Cinderella respectively – to shelves for mini-doll fans. More of the same, really, but that’s no bad thing.

LEGO DOTS

DOTS is expanding its horizons even further in June, with new adhesive patches joining the line-up of bracelets and accessories. There’s also the theme’s biggest set to date in 41961 Designer Toolkit – Patterns, which contains a huge 1,096 pieces.

LEGO Friends

Just like CITY, LEGO Friends is enjoying a bumper month of releases this month – and there’s some serious variety in the mix, too. 41714 Andrea’s Theatre School should be top of the list for more than just Friends fans (did someone say 71033 The Muppets theatre?), while the mini-dolls of Heartlake City can also enjoy a new pizzeria, water park and arcade. We’ve half a mind to move there ourselves.

LEGO Harry Potter

Remember when the LEGO Group was totally non-committal about bringing us Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sets? Those sly designers must have known at the time that they were planning to launch 76403 The Ministry of Magic this summer, but obviously couldn’t say anything about it. That’s not even the most interesting set in this very interesting Harry Potter wave, though, which also gives us a new Shrieking Shack and our first-ever 12 Grimmauld Place.

LEGO Ideas

If your wallet’s still recovering from 21332 The Globe, bad news: there’s another Ideas set vying for your attention, and it’s even more impressive than the last one. Based on a design by Truman Cheng, 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night is a three-dimensional recreation of the Dutch painter’s most iconic work, and makes for a complex, colourful and creative build. Check out our review here.

This one is technically already available to VIP members, but it goes on wide release June 1.

LEGO Minecraft

Five new LEGO Minecraft sets join the evergreen video game theme in June, each continuing its blocky aesthetic with new characters, colours and builds. That barn is timely given CITY’s new farming sets, too – and worth a look even if you’re not a Minecraft connoisseur.

LEGO Monkie Kid

If only every LEGO theme received the same care, love and attention to detail as Monkie Kid. It’s been said before, yes, but this new wave of sets makes it worth saying again, because they all look as colourful, fun and imaginative as the rest. 80039 The Heavenly Realms is this year’s 80024 The Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain, no doubt.

LEGO NINJAGO

Who’s ready to embrace the healing power of crystals? That’s not what the latest season of LEGO NINJAGO is all about? Oh, okay… well, Crystalized’s wave of tie-in sets are probably still worth a look-in anyway, especially for what seems to be yet another winning NINJAGO mech.

LEGO Star Wars

It was originally announced approximately 17 years ago in LEGO news cycle terms, so you could be forgiven for forgetting about 75325 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter, but the first LEGO set based on Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett finally lands on shelves on June 1. Come for Peli Motto, stay for the tiny BD droid. Click here for our review, and remember that you can already pre-order 75325 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter from LEGO.com.

LEGO Technic

The latest addition to the retroactively-branded LEGO Technic Ultimate Car series is possibly its best, and certainly its sleekest. 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 boasts a printed information plaque (take that, Star Wars UCS sets?), beautiful drum-lacquered silver wheels, and the kind of complex and challenging build that Technic fans should be salivating over. We’ve already reviewed it right here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

This exhaustive list must have taken some time to put together. Thanks for doing it.
