Every upcoming LEGO BrickLink Designer Program deadline to be aware of

A number of important LEGO BrickLink Designer Program deadlines are fast approaching, so we’ve gathered them all together in one place.

With various different series at different stages, along with side contests to boot, there’s a lot to stay on top of when it comes to the LEGO BrickLink Designer Programs. To make it easier to ensure you never miss a thing, we’ve gathered every major deadline for the next year in one place – and a few of them are coming up all at the same time in the upcoming weeks.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 submissions – May 24, 2024

First and foremost, there are only hours left (at the time of writing) to get your submissions in for Series 5 of BDP. This would put you in with a chance of having your set open for crowdfunding in the coming years, so builders around the world can buy and build your very own design. LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 Mini-Build Competition submissions – May 29, 2024

The next important deadline to be aware of comes soon after on May 29, with the close of the Series 2 Mini-Build Competition. This offers builders another chance to make their mark, by designing smaller versions of the Series 2 finalists. One winning design will be selected for each of the five Series 2 models, with one copy going to each of the finalist designers when they launch in November.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 crowdfunding opens – June 6, 2024

The details are all confirmed for the five Series 2 finalists ahead of crowdfunding opening on June 6, running until June 30. You can see all five final models here and get a sense of which ones you might want to pre-order. Remember that up to 30,000 copies of each set will be produced – and only when they reach their crowdfunding minimum of at least 3,000 people.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 finalists announced – August 19, 2024

Following the fast-approaching submissions deadline, the LEGO BrickLink team will review the entries and pick their five finalists. These five sets may still be subject to change during the refining period that runs from September 2 to May 1, working closely with both the fan designers and Model Governance and Building Instructions teams.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 6 submissions open – September, 2024

The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program never rests, with Series 6 already opening up as well later this year in September. At the time of writing, no precise date has been set but we’d expect this to come sometime soon, with just a few months to go now. This could be a good deadline to aim for instead of Series 5 if your design isn’t quite perfected yet.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 3 crowdfunding opens – October 3, 2024

The same process applies to Series 3, opening on October 3, 2024. Those five models have also been selected already but final details like the prices have not yet been confirmed. This could also result in some minor design changes leading to fluctuations in piece counts but these have been pretty minor in previous series.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 production starts – November, 2024

LEGO BrickLink orders are generally ready around six months after crowdfunding closes, meaning December/Janaury should the estimated window for orders to start shipping. BrickLink maintains that this could be subject to change and will also be affected by where in the world you’re located.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 submissions open – January, 2025

If you need more time on your BrickLink design, there’s another chance to have your set selected in Series 7, scheduled to open for submissions in January of 2025. That’s over half a year away, giving you plenty of time to fine-tune an existing idea – or come up with something wholly new.

LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 4 crowdfunding opens – February 1, 2025

With all the Series 4 finalists already confirmed, you’ll be able to lend your support to the ones you’re a fan of from February 1, 2025. Prices have not yet been confirmed but will be in advance of pre-orders opening so you can plan your purchases accordingly.
