Five Marvel minifigures that need a LEGO mech set

With the re-introduction of Wolverine to LEGO Marvel in a mech model, we’ve picked out five other Marvel minifigures that we think need a mech.

In recent years, the focus of LEGO Marvel has been the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the X-Men have yet to be introduced. Despite that, the LEGO Marvel design team have brought Wolverine back to the theme in 76202 Wolverine Mech Armor.

With that in mind, let’s look at the older and recent history of LEGO Marvel to see what other characters should get a LEGO Marvel mech.

5 – Magneto

With the power to manipulate metal, Magneto makes almost too much sense for a mech model as the LEGO designers could get creative with the concept of a non-mechanical build, but rather one controlled by the mind of Magneto. Add to that the bright purple and red colour scheme with his signature helmet and this character has a design that lends itself well to a mech set.

4 – Storm

Storm has the power to control the weather surrounding her and her last and only minifigure in 76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel including a specialised fabric element that could be interesting to see adapted into a LEGO Marvel mech, possibly using bricks instead of cloth. Getting another minifigure of the character would be appreciated of course too.

3 – Deadpool

While Deadpool might be considered too violent or mature for LEGO Marvel with the recent iteration of the character played by Ryan Reynolds, he has received an official minifigure before, as well as convention-exclusive spin-off iterations. Considering that, a LEGO Marvel mech for Deadpool could include a pair of oversized brick-built swords and focus on the design of the character, rather than his personality.

2 – Rhino

Rhino recently received a minifigure makeover in 10782 Hulk vs. Rhino Truck Showdown with a fresh element for his armour. Building off that, we can imagine a mech for this character including a comic-accurate minifigure as well as a model referencing the Rhino armour from the Amazing Spider-Man sequel, similar to what we saw in 76037 Rhino and Sandman Super Villain Team-up.

1 – Cyclops

Cyclops is one of the most recognisable members of the X-Men. 76202 Wolverine Mech Armor focused on the comic book design of the character and we’d like to see a model with a similar approach to Cyclops, incorporating the yellow straps and possibly the goggles.
