Four more Avatar movies are planned confirms The Way of Water producer

We’re only just about to receive LEGO sets for the first Avatar film but there are plans for four more, including The Way of Water. 

At D23 Expo 2022, Jon Landau confirmed in an interview how far along the suite movies planned in the world of Avatar are. With The Way of Water months away, it seems safe to assume that is nearing completion. 

“We have four more planned,” said Jon Landau to Variety.” We have two, three, four and five. Those scripts are all written. We have completed production on two, three and part of movie four so we’re ready.” 

When asked about any further films in the franchise, Jon explained that story ideas are there, but wanted to get through the next four first. 

LEGO Avatar is the newest theme under the LEGO Group’s belt and has a range of sets launching soon based on the first film as well as listings for more in 2023, though they have yet to be confirmed. 

With the Avatar franchise intended to continue for some time, it should leave the LEGO designers with plenty of inspiration and source material for further Avatar models as long as the theme continues for that long.
