Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer revealed

It’s an exciting time for Marvel fans as following the recent Ant-Man trailer, the first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is here.

James Gunn has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Releasing on November 25, 2022, on Disney+, the trailer confirms that this will be the second special presentation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Werewolf by Night.

There’s no need to speculate on what LEGO Marvel sets this project could receive as its official brick-built representation is available now. However, you might not have seen the entirety of 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar yet as it’s an advent calendar so be aware that spoilers for the contents of 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendarwill follow.

With 24 builds in 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar, the set is inspired by both this special and the past adventures of the team in the MCU and the trailer offers further insight into the context of the models and minifigures.

Inclusions such as Mantis with a guitar seem entirely possible after watching the trailer, where the character is seen dancing with a pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately, there’s no Kevin Bacon minifigure in 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar though.

It appears that the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be more of a comedic outing for the team in the MCU as they attempt to cheer up their leader in time for Christmas.

We’ll have to see how much of the 2022 Marvel advent calendar crosses over with the special when it is available to watch on November 25, 2022.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
