Hideo Kojima adds unique movie model to LEGO collection

Game creator Hideo Kojima has shown his enthusiasm for LEGO sets several times, now extending to a brand new model that is one-of-a-kind.

One of the many celebrity LEGO enthusiasts, Hideo Kojima, has shared on X that he’s picked up the new 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter, following the likes of PAC-MAN, Concorde, the Ultimate Collector Series Razor Crest, a familiar time machine and more.

Now, the Dune set has joined his collection and it’s currently the only official model based on the franchise, tying in with the release of the second movie on March 1. Aside from 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night, the creator seems to have a fondness for LEGO Icons models.

Kojima’s reason for picking up 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter may be down to more than just a fondness for LEGO Icons. In 2021, he shared his thoughts on Dune which he seems to have enjoyed with a few criticisms, though some details may have been lost in translation.

The Metal Gear Solid creator’s love of LEGO stretches back to his days working on the franchise, when he recreated Metal Gear Solid’s base using LEGO pieces to help represent the design in 3D, instead of just using graph paper.

10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter is available now for £149.99 / $164.99 / €164.99 and you can read our in-depth review by clicking here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
