LEGO Icons 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell is perfect for LEGO Ideas

The huge and new 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell could be perfect for an upcoming LEGO Ideas set thanks to a common fantasy connection.

The Lord of the Rings is one of the most iconic fantasy franchises and with the brand LEGO Icons 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, it’s given the LEGO design teams a chance to expand the current array of fantastical elements just in time for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set.

With new weapons, a hair and ear combo piece, broken props as well as foliage, here are some of the new elements introduced in 10316 The Lord of the rings: Rivendell that will be perfect for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons model.

4 – New pointed ear and hair brick

Given that elves are an important part of the source material that inspired 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, a new hair element without the accessories of the older theme’s bricks is debuting in the LEGO Icons set.

Elves are also a common race that players can choose in Dungeons & Dragons and it would make sense should the LEGO Ideas designers wish to use this newer piece for an elven minifigure, rather than the shorter-haired variations also available.

3 – New weapons

From the official images of 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, there are quite a few new weapon elements in the upcoming LEGO Icons creation, and these would work great for fighters, barbarians, warlocks and any other minifigures featured in the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set.

Looking at the images provided for 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, the new weapons include an updated axe and at least three kinds of swords, most of which can be found in Rivendell’s blacksmith.

2 – Narsil, the sword that was broken

There’s another new weapon element in 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell as Narsil’s broken form has been treated to an exclusive LEGO piece. This longsword may not be as useful for your standard Dungeons & Dragons party as a whole weapon.

However, the original project inspiring the official LEGO Ideas set has a broken tower ruin and a dungeon, both of which could feature a deceased adventurer with a broken sword for a suggested story.

1 – Foliage

Another LEGO foliage brick is debuting in 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell with a leaf brick arched upwards for a unique take on LEGO plants.

Unless the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set strays from the original project, there’s a good chance of at least some natural surfaces appearing in the final design and this piece could reappear as additional decoration, or as a topper to a natural staff.

I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
