LEGO 40355 Year of the Rat promotion coming in January

2020 will be the Year of the Rat, with a promotion coming up to get LEGO 40355 for free with qualifying purchases.

LEGO 40335 Year of the Rat was revealed around a month ago, and now the promotion that it will be part of has been shared. The Brick Fan has revealed the January 2020 LEGO Store calendar, that shows the various promotions and activities that will kick off the new year.

Typically, these sets come in an easy-to-open box with a red envelope for gifting money, as is tradition during Chinese New Year. Last year the set was 41086 Year of the Pig.

Any order totalling $80 or more will get the special exclusive set for free.

Two deals are currently running at LEGO.com. Any order on LEGO Star Wars sets totalling £40 or more ($40 in the USA) will get 30624 Obi-Wan Kenobi – Collectible Minifigure for free, while any order totalling £100 or more (or $100 in the USA) will get 40337 Gingerbread House for free – a smaller version of LEGO Creator Expert 10267 Gingerbread House (review).

Two new sets were recently announced to celebrate Chinese New Year, with with 80105 Chinese New Year Temple Fair and 80104 Lion Dance due for release on December 26.
