LEGO 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack officially revealed

The first image of the upcoming LEGO GWP 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack for 2023 has been officially revealed.

The LEGO Group has released a number of VIP Add-On Packs in 2022, available as both GWP items and VIP rewards. These small polybags include a selection of LEGO elements that can be used to add to existing models and enhance builds with themed pieces. Included in the line-up of such promotional items this year have been 40513 Halloween VIP Add-On Pack, 40514 Winter Wonderland VIP Add-On Pack and 40515 Pirates and Treasure VIP Add-On Pack.

In addition, one of the current promotional offers available on LEGO.com is 40512 Fun and Funky VIP Add-On Pack, which can be picked up by VIP members for free with spends over £50 / $50 / €50 until December 31. The listing on the official site also states, ‘Watch out for the next pack – Lunar New Year – coming soon!’

Now, thanks to the LEGO Group’s product certification page, we have a first look at the upcoming 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack polybag. As with previous similar GWP items, the small set includes a selection of themed pieces and this time it’s plant parts, rabbits, money and more. Although the initial image of the promotional polybag isn’t that great, it’s clear that many of the elements would make excellent additions to the LEGO Group’s upcoming range of Lunar New Year sets.

Included in that line-up of models launching as soon as December 25 (in the UK and Europe) are 40648 Money Tree, 80045 Monkey King Ultra Mech, 80110 Lunar New Year Display and 80111 Lunar New Year Parade. There’s been no confirmation yet on when 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack will be available or what the spending threshold will be to obtain it, but speculation suggests a release timed to coincide with the rest of the LEGO Group’s Lunar New Year sets would certainly make sense.
