A new office in Copenhagen has been opened as part of an effort to triple the size of the LEGO Group’s digital team with more expansion planned.
With the LEGO Group’s recent partnerships to expand their role in the digital space, including those with Epic Games and the DQ Institute, it’s clear that it’s becoming a more important part of the company, and a new office in Copenhagen, as well as expansions for the Billund, London and Shanghai offices, will help to triple the size of the digital team.
“Our digital transformation is one of the single largest investments the LEGO Group will make in a generation,” shared Atul Bhardwaj, Chief Digital & Technology Office. “We’ve been blending physical and digital experiences for many years and are excited by our progress. But, we have big ambitions so are accelerating our investment and expanding our digital team.
Official images of the office reveal how the space was designed with those working there in mind, including a room for relaxing and playing games.
“Every step of the design process was taken alongside our digital team members so that the workspace inspires them to do their best work, every day,” commented Head of LEGO Workplace Experience, Tim Ahrensbach. “The team gave us great advice on how to create the ideal agile working space, what would help them focus, spaces to collaborate and play and of course a great gamer room.”
The Copenhagen office currently houses 100 members of the team, but it has space for 400 eventually. Combined with the expansions for the other three offices, this will expand the digital team to over 1,800 colleagues over a three year period.
