LEGO DOTS introduces sustainable packaging for some 2023 sets

The LEGO Group’s efforts towards sustainability and changes to packaging now include LEGO DOTS as there’s a big change for 2023.

LEGO DOTS’ usual types of packaging include boxes, cardboard sleeves around storage trays and plastic bags for the Extra DOTS series and bracelets.

That latter category is changing in 2023 as the bracelets are moving to cardboard packaging. The curved container showcased in 41801 My Pets Bracelet and 41802 Unicorns Forever Bracelet is different from the plastic bag previously used for sets including 41933 Music Bracelet

It’s another step towards the LEGO Group’s packaging being completely sustainable with paper bags now being rolled out to sets instead of plastic bags containing the bricks.

Paper bags are not being used to contain a full set of pieces, apart from in LEGO magazines, as the new 41803 Extra DOTS Series 8 – Glitter and Shine still usesplastic. With LEGO Collectible Minifigures transitioning to boxes later this year after trials of paper bags proved unsuccessful, the same could happen with the Extra DOTS series in the future.

The new range of LEGO DOTS is available now, featuring the following sets. Later this year, Harry Potter will cross over with the creative theme
