The LEGO Group has just officially unveiled LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade, a homage to the 80s game and released on announced exactly 43 years to the day after its original launch. Included in its 2,651 pieces is a buildable arcade machine showcasing the game, PAC-MAN himself, two ghosts (Clyde and Blinky), and a minifigure playing a miniature version hidden in the back.

With plenty of interactive features, the fun doesn’t stop with the build of LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN – but there are still plenty of well-thought-out details that make for a stunning display model as well. We’ve broken down some of our favourite features and elements for you in our visual guide and gallery.

LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade build

LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is styled after the classic 80s arcade machines, with bright yellow sides and the black-and-blue colours of PAC-MAN emblazoned across the front. The back of the brick-built machine opens to reveal the inner workings of the build, including a vignette of a minifigure playing a scaled-down version of the game.

Alongside this minifigure, clad in retro clothing in keeping with the 80s theme throughout this set, you also get three buildable figures straight from the PAC-MAN game. As well as PAC-MAN of course, you also get a buildable Clyde and Blinky, with cartoonish googly eyes to best represent their wide-eyed look. PAC-MAN. himself is captured in his chomping stance, ready to gobble down the runaway ghosts. You can display the buildable characters either on top of the machine or as a separate element.

Any game-themed LEGO model of course needs some level of interactivity and LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is no different. To start with, you can light up the coin-slot as if you were really about to play the ’80s game.

In addition, the PAC-MAN figures can rotate when in place on top of the LEGO machine, in the same way that spinning figures would pull in punters to the game. during busy arcade sections. When turning around, the ghosts lose their colour and turn into their sad blue versions, as if they’ve been ‘got’ by PAC-MAN.

To pay tribute to the iconic PAC-MAN game, there are plenty of clever references woven into the build. For example, LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade was officially announced on the same day as the original game was revealed back in 1980, 43 years before.

Plus, creating LEGO elements in the precise colour of the PAC-MAN game was an easy ask, seeing as it’s the same yellow colour as the classic LEGO yellow brick.

There looks to be a brand new plated element included in LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade: the black plate with a blue rim. This is just as well, because stickering all those plates would certainly drag on a build of this size.

What’s more, new studs including not just PAC-MAN, Blinky and Clyde, but also two more ghosts, Inky and Pinky. These can be arranged along the front of the platform that the three buildable figures stand on, whether attached to the machine or displayed separately.

LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade will launch for VIPs on June 1 and for everyone else from June 4, retailing for £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99.
