The LEGO Group has officially revealed its next upcoming LEGO Icons release in the shape of 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade. Created in close collaboration with Bandai Namco, the 2,651-piece build celebrates the 43rd anniversary of the classic dot-munching character and will launch early for VIP members on June 1, with a wider release for everyone else from June 4.

The upcoming 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade measures 32cm in height, 25cm wide and 17cm deep and will be priced at £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99. The 18+ model offers a detailed recreation of the 80’s arcade game, complete with large and colourful brick-built versions of PAC-MAN and two ghosts, BLINKY and CLYDE. The announcement comes on the exact same day that the original PAC-MAN game debuted in the 1980s, with Bandai Namco also revealing that the yellow look of the character was in fact based on the LEGO Group’s signature colour.

The completed LEGO Icons set features a coin slot that can be illuminated (thanks to an included light brick), the back opens up and includes a small vignette with a minifigure playing a PAC-MAN arcade machine, and the PAC-MAN, BLINKY and CLYDE models can be rotated on a base or displayed separately.

In addition, 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade has a small handle on the side of the cabinet that seems to simulate some of the game’s functions on its brick-built screen, as well as a moveable joystick and one and two-player buttons that can be pressed.

Describing the process of creating the new set, LEGO designer Sven Franic said, “A cultural icon for the past 40 years, it was a delight to bring PAC-MAN to brick life. Our team of talented designers worked tirelessly to capture the essence of the beloved PAC-MAN arcade machine in brick form, from PAC-MAN himself to the colourful, maze-like environment he inhabits.

Franic went on to say, “Every detail was carefully considered and crafted, resulting in a one-of-a-kind LEGO creation that captures the magic of the original game while adding a playful new twist and a couple of Easter eggs – in true video game style. We are thrilled to share this incredible build with the world and cannot wait to see the joy it brings to fans of all ages.”

LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade will launch for VIPs on June 1 and for everyone else from June 4, priced at £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99 with 2,651 pieces and one minifigure.
