LEGO Ideas sees Billie Eilish-themed design reach 10,000 votes
LEGO minifigure Billie Eilish takes to the stage in the latest in musician-themed fan designs to gather 10,000 votes.
Perhaps inspired by the success of 21339 BTS Dynamite, there have been a wave of LEGO Ideas submissions centred around popular musicians (with Taylor Swift leading the way). Thanks to the powerful fanbases and clever designs, several of these sets have gone on to gather 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas, including the most recent addition: Friedrich3’s Happier Than Ever, a brick-built retro radio inspired by Billie Eilish’s album of the same name.
The fan-designed set features various easter eggs from the music video, depicting Billie in her living room with several set pieces she uses in the video, including vinyl records and a pool on the roof, where she performs the climax of her song in the rain.
On the back of the radio, there are still more references, including her recording studio in Los Angeles, her older brother who Billie works with as a producer, and three objects that all hold significance to both Billie and the fandom.
“In the recording studio, there are three objects meant to reference three other songs on their album,” explains the designer. “The cap stands for the song “Lost Cause,” the small clock goes with the song “Getting Older” and the black car is made for the song “NDA.””
Happier Than Ever becomes the tenth project to join the current LEGO Ideas review. Here’s a reminder of all the sets that will head off for consideration of becoming a real LEGO Ideas set at the end of this year.
