NASA’s Space Launch Systems blasts into LEGO Ideas round again

A familiar model has blasted into the LEGO Ideas review round again, but from a different user as NASA’s SLS has another shot at a set.

One of the few certainties in life is the consistent presence of space-centric projects in the various LEGO Ideas review rounds and there’s now one in the third 2023 review, courtesy of Whatsuptoday, Matthew Nolan and 10,000 supporters.

NASA’s SLS Block 1 & 1B Rockets – Artemis Missions uses 2,661 pieces overall and may be familiar to those who can recall a certain project in the first 2021 LEGO Ideas review. This project can be split into the various stages of the recently launched rocket to recreate the historic Artemis mission

It’s the fifth build to enter the third 2023 LEGO Ideas review and is the first realistic space model in the round, but Moon Palace arguably beats it when it comes to the more general theme of space.

We’re only in the first few weeks of the latest LEGO Ideas round and any of these models could be a future set, much like the many LEGO Ideas creations that are retiring soon.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
