LEGO Indiana Jones rumoured to return in 2023 with eight sets

Rumours are that LEGO Indiana Jones will be back in 2023 with eight sets, split between the old movies and the fifth instalment in the franchise.

Indiana Jones 5 is confirmed to be released on June 30, 2023. The LEGO Group is no stranger to this franchise with a history of multiple models based on the adventurer’s cinematic exploits. With that in mind, it seems plausible that the theme could return in time for the new movie though it has yet to be confirmed as such.

Now, Promobricks is reporting that the theme will be back in 2023 with eight new sets. These are reported to be split equally between the four older films and the new entry. Note that these are only rumoured and should be taken with caution until officially confirmed.

77012 Fighter Plane Chase

77012 Fighter Plane Chase is rumoured to be based on a scene from the third movie with a plane and a car, unlike its last official iteration in 7198 Fighter Plane Attack which featured two planes. Included minifigures are reported to be Indiana Jones with an open jacket and tie, Henry Jones Sr. and a pilot with 387 pieces for $34.99.

77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb

The rumoured 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb is rumoured to feature minifigures of Indiana Jones, Marion Ravenwood, Sallah and a mummy in a build made up of 600 parts, including the minifigures.

It’s reported to be similarly sized to the last iteration of this scene from the first film – 7621 Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb with two larger statues of Anubis and the Ark of the Covenant as well as a back wall. This build is said to be $39.99 with 600 pieces.

77014 The Temple of Doom

Also rumoured to be revisiting a scene from an existing set, 77014 The Temple of the Doom could match with 7199 The Temple of Doom with 801 pieces and minifigures for Indiana Jones, Willie Scott, Short Round, Mola Ram, the Maharajah and a Thugee guard.

The track from the official model is reported to return for the rumoured 2023 set, with a large statue of Kali, a skull altar on a platform beneath which the track runs to a pedestal surrounded by lava. A price of $79.99 for 801 pieces is reported.

The other five rumoured sets

The remaining five rumoured sets are not detailed as much in the report, though 77015 is said to cost $149.99. Beyond that, 77016, 77017, 77018 and 77019 are reported to likely be for the fifth instalment in the franchise.

However, also stated in the rumour is that a new Indiana Jones minifigure could include the shoulder bag, whip and a dual-moulded hat with hair, and a hat band that is a darker shade of brown than the rest of the element.

As usual, treat these and all rumours with caution in case they turn out to be false.
