LEGO Moments 10391 Space rumoured for possible 2023 release

A space-themed LEGO set that may or may not be inspired by the vintage Blacktron theme is rumoured to launch as early as October 2023, under the new heading ‘LEGO Moments’.

Price comparison site brickmerge.de has published a new listing for LEGO Moments 10391 Space, which is said to be an 18+ set consisting of 966 pieces. Its current release date is October 2023, though brick_clicker notes on Instagram that it’s likely the model has been pushed to April 2024. The same source also suggests the set will include a ‘large black spaceship’, but stops short of confirming we’re on the cusp of Blacktron’s full return.

The LEGO Group has already revisited the Classic Space subtheme in recent months with 40580 Blacktron Cruiser, a gift-with-purchase originally available at the beginning of 2023. The 966-piece set – which is said to retail for €99.99 – could therefore revamp another of the faction’s sets in the same way that GWP modernised 1987’s 6894 Invader. If we’re dreaming big, anyway.

10391 Space will apparently also include two minifigures, both of whom have different heads and hairpieces to allow for customisation. What’s most intriguing here is that while the set follows LEGO Icons’ 103XX product numbering, this is actually pegged as a brand new theme named LEGO Moments. Brick_clicker reports that at least one more set, 10392, will follow – so there’s a chance we could be looking at an entire theme of sets inspired by classic LEGO lines.

Call that an educated guess for now, though, in the absence of any more concrete details – and consider everything reported here as unconfirmed for now. These are reliable sources, but even those shouldn’t be taken as gospel until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
