LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2024 UCS set rumoured to revisit a classic ship
Next year’s May the 4th LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set is rumoured to revisit one of the range’s very first ships.
The identity of the next May the 4th UCS set was not rumoured among the first list of LEGO Star Wars 2024 sets, but early details from Promobricks suggested it would follow the usual template of launching on May 1 for €239.99. Instagram user 1414falconfan now reports (via brick_clicker) that the model will return to one of the very first UCS sets with 75382 TIE Interceptor.
The Return of the Jedi ship was one of two Ultimate Collector Series sets to arrive on shelves in 2000, in the form of 7181 TIE Interceptor. This year’s May the 4th set revisited the other one – 7191 X-wing Fighter – in 75355 X-wing Starfighter, and it looks like the LEGO Group may be continuing its journey through LEGO Star Wars history in 2024.
Details including a piece count and potential minifigures are still up in the air, but it’s safe to assume the new model will best the original set’s 703 bricks. A TIE Pilot minifigure also feels like a cert, but if the LEGO Star Wars team keeps pace with recent May the 4th releases by including two characters, the second is wide open. Credible candidates could be an Imperial Officer, astromech droid or even a named Imperial character such as Darth Vader.
It’s worth remembering that this is still just a rumour, so might not yet come to fruition. If you’re looking for something more concrete, you can currently pick up a minifigure-scale version of the same vehicle in 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
