LEGO Star Wars confirms new speeder bike design in diorama set

LEGO Star Wars designers have confirmed that 75353 Endor Speeder Chase features brand-new speeder bike designs.

The newly-revealed LEGO Star Wars diorama model set on Endor has plenty of authentic details that make for a worthy comparison to the source material. Speaking to StarWars.com, LEGO Star Wars designer Jme Wheeler confirmed that the speeder bikes we see balancing on transparent rods in 75353 Endor Speeder Chase are new designs, updates to previous brick-built recreations of the chase on Endor.

“These are indeed new bike designs,” said Jme. “Given the higher age mark on the set and older target audience, it afforded us the opportunity to capture as many details as possible.”

Speeder bikes may not be new to the LEGO Star Wars theme, we believe we haven’t seen a new design for a few years now, last seen in 2017 in 75532 Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike and 75167 Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack. The 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi is the perfect time for it to make a comeback.

“I can promise these are built in a completely different way to all of our previous speeder bikes, so even longtime fans will have a brand-new experience building them,” Jme continued. “Our ever-expanding catalogue of elements means we constantly have new opportunities to approach the same subject matter in fresh new ways.”
