More details on rumoured LEGO NINJAGO City 2023 modular building

The first details on the rumoured LEGO 71799 NINJAGO City Markets are starting to surface, giving us an idea of what to expect from the model and its minifigures.

Initially rumoured back in January, 71799 NINJAGO City Markets is said to be a follow-up to 70620 NINJAGO City, 70657 NINJAGO City Docks and 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens, which together form NINJAGO’s collection of incredible modular buildings. According to Promobricks, 71799 NINJAGO City Markets will the biggest of them all, coming in at 6,163 pieces for $369.99.

The same source has now teased further details on the towering model, reporting that NGTV News cameraman Vinny Folson will be among the minifigures included in 71799 NINJAGO City Markets. This is a character who has so far appeared exclusively in the NINJAGO TV series, and would complement minifigures of Mother Doomsday, Mystake and The Mechanic, who each debuted in previous NINJAGO City sets.

Promobricks speculates that Vinny’s inclusion means we’re also likely to see NGTV reporter Gayle Gossip, another NINJAGO TV show character who has yet to be released as a physical minifigure. And if both of those characters are present in the set, it would make sense that at least part of 71799 NINJAGO City Markets is dedicated to the NGTV offices.

Remember that 71799 NINJAGO City Markets has yet to be confirmed by the LEGO Group, so there are no guarantees it exists at all. But it’s currently said to be launching on June 1, so we hopefully won’t have to wait too long to find out one way or the other.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
