Mysterious LEGO set rumoured to be on its way this year
A mysteriously-named rumoured LEGO set sparks speculation ahead of its 2023 release.
According to brickmerge.de, a rumoured LEGO set, named 40634 Icons of Play, is due for release in a few short months, but not yet attached to any specified theme. Made up of 899 pieces, the name suggests that this could be some sort of commemorative set or perhaps representative of some symbolic objects.
The LEGO Group has long attached its brand to the concept of ‘play’, so it could be something related to the company itself. However, rumoured sets attached to Disney’s 100th anniversary are also slated for a summer release. This could mean that 40634 Icons of Play could also be attached to Disney ‘icons’ from throughout the last century of the company.
Not many other details are known about the build, such as its price, so it’s hard to piece anything more together beyond this. However, the set is believed to be making its way onto shelves from June 2023 and will likely remain available until 2025. Of course, we can’t know anything for sure until we get confirmation from the LEGO Group, so this is largely all speculation for now.
