New LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga gameplay discovered

New snippets of gameplay from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga have been found, revealing the first look at boss battles, ship interiors and more.

As part of an advertising campaign named ‘Build, Play, Game’ that took place towards the end of 2020, several adverts were shown on YouTube that featured small clips of gameplay from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Ramsay Sanders is responsible for gathering the clips into one compilation and includes four, 15-second adverts. The first focuses on a battle between Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous on Kashyyyk from which we can see the combo system that will be present in the game.

There’s also a clip of Darth Vader inside what appears to be either the Death Star or a Star Destroyer, where the walls and floors are entirely brick-built. This might be our first sign of how huge ships will be represented in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Most of the other gameplay seen features mostly ship battles including a peek at the battle of Hoth. However, a fight between Rey and Kylo Ren does reveal a look at the boss battle health bars which differ greatly from the simple hearts seen in past LEGO games.

While all these clips are likely months old, and with the game being recently delayed again, there’s no saying exactly how much will have changed before the final release. But hopefully, this is a decent representation of what we can expect to see in the final version of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
