New look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse announced

A potential trailer has been announced for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse with a nearing date as another image from the film is shared.

A ‘new view’ from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming on December 13 as announced by the film’s social media team. It’s possible that this new view is referring to the second trailer for the film, though that’s not explicitly stated.

The only trailer for the animated sequel is 11 months old at present and is still referring to the film as Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). That title is no longer accurate as the two parts of Across the Spider-Verse have since been renamed Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Across the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled for June 2, 2023, and Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently set to be released on March 29, 2024. Much like the first film, both are likely to introduce new characters from across the multiverse and a story spanning several animation styles and worlds. We know that The Spot will be a villain in the film voiced by Jason Schwartzman too.

While the first film didn’t get any specific sets, its influence on LEGO Marvel and Marvel is evident with Miles Morales and Ghost Spider now forming a key part of the Spider-Man roster and appearing in sets such as 76178 Daily Bugle.

Other key characters from the first movie have appeared as minifigures in models including 76150 Spiderjet vs. Venom Mech, 76151 Venomosaurus Ambush and 76114 Spider-Man’s Spider Crawler. All of those models were released after Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.

Considering this, the upcoming Spider-Verse movies may be influential on LEGO Marvel and Marvel too and it may be worth tuning in to both the potential trailer and the film itself. We’ll see exactly what this ‘new view’ is on December 13.
