LEGO 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell now available for pre-order

Pre-orders are now open for the new LEGO 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell set, and will ship from May 4, 2023.

Just in time for the release of the film on May 26, 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell set is available to take a good look at on the online LEGO store. It comes with Ariel and four other minifigures that accurately match their on-screen counterparts, as well as the important figures of Sebastian and Flounder there to keep Ariel company. 

As a huge plus point for the beautifully detailed set, a lot of us have been eagerly waiting for the first official LEGO minifigure of singer and actress Halle Bailey as Ariel, and 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell is the set where she’ll get her exciting first debut. 

Coming in with 1808 pieces, the set will be the first and (at the time of writing) the only 18+ set that we’ve seen based on The Little Mermaid. It’s easily the most intricate of the three sets that have been announced for the remake, and will cost £139.99 / $159.99 / €159.99 to purchase.

From what we’ve already seen, the set is so much more than just a display of a well-designed pretty shell – there’s a ghost of a shipwreck, Ursula’s dark lair lurking beneath the palace, and even some tiny hidden details from Ariel’s secret grotto. 

Alongside 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell set we’re also getting 43213 Little Mermaid Story Book and 43229 Ariel’s Treasure Chest. Those sets are 5+ and 6+ respectively, so the new clamshell set is very likely to be popular among the adult fans of both LEGO and The Little Mermaid.
