Retired LEGO GWP sets available at the VIP Reward Centre

Fans can get the past gift with purchase LEGO set, 40178 VIP, at the VIP Reward Centre, with more on the way.

Today sees 40178 VIP available to fans at the LEGO VIP Reward Centre, accessible via LEGO.com. Ever since getting a refresh last year, the scheme has offered more than just discounts, but physical products too. In exchange for points, fans can have something extra delivered with their next LEGO.com order.

The LEGO Group had actually promised three new physical rewards, that were previously only available as gift with purchase items – 40178 VIP, 5006085 Red Brick, 40221 Fountain and DUPLO 40269 Photo Frame. Only 40178 is available, so presumably the other two have been delayed.

That’s not the end of the process, as once a reward is redeemed, an order must be placed to have it delivered with.

A new sweepstakes is coming up, with the 2012 San Diego Comic Con exclusive DC Super Heroes Bizarro as the prize. Other recent VIP exclusives have included a signed LEGO Star Wars book, 75522 Droid Commaner polybag and the sweepstakes for a White Boba Fett minfigure.

A new digital download will also be available on June 26, continuing the ‘Drive what you love’ brand.

Feeling like a bit of an idiot. I placed an order last night for the big Monkie Kid ship, then remembered this promotion this morning and had to buy a polybag (and spend more than the polybag’s worth on shipping) just to get the VIP shop set. If only I’d waited a little longer!
