I was somewhat disappointed with the computer that came with 70909 Batcave Break-In. While the console and keyboard were fairly accurate, the bat shaped screens were vastly smaller than their on-screen counterparts. I wanted to see if I could do better (and bigger).
The first step involved overcoming two challenges. The on-screen version of the Batcomputer contains countless small screens surrounding a single large one where the icons – and ‘Parental Lock’ appears. Not having the luxury of unlimited funds, multiple copies of 70909 to get more stickers was not on the cards. My solution was to scan the sticker sheet that came with the set, then copy it a bunch of times over onto sticker paper.
I then mounted the stickers onto appropriately sized tiles. The large Parental Lock screen was created by capturing and clipping a screen shot from the trailer and printing it in a similar manner. A copy of the ‘Parental Lock’ screen label I made can be found here.
The Central Screen
The central screen serves a dual purpose as the support of the entire build in addition to sporting the large ‘Parental Lock’ screen.
The batcomputer works well with our recent Bat-chair build.
