This LEGO 90th event seems a bit corny

A York children’s attraction is honouring the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary with a LEGO-themed corn maze.

The LEGO Group has officially kicked off its 90th anniversary celebrations on its website, with a number of banners and (we hope) some new LEGO set releases going forward. LEGO fans can currently score a promotional item inspired by the Castle theme on LEGO.com. They can also take a personality test to determine which LEGO brick they are: truly, one of the burning questions of our era.

If you’re in the York area, you may want to check out an event running from next month. York Press reports that York Maze – a local attraction – is partnering with the LEGO Group to bring some LEGO theming to its next labyrinth.

York Maze has a history of strategically planting maize to create shapes that can be seen from the air. Last year’s maze drew inspiration from the Mr Men children’s book series, with a giant Mr Tall created for the occasion. Previous mazes have paid tribute to the likes of Star Wars and The Lion King.

GPS technology has been used to ensure the resulting shape is accurate, so anyone attending the event shouldn’t be disappointed. It’ll be open from July 16 to September 5 this year; you can visit the York Maze website to book tickets before visiting.

If you’d like a more authentic LEGO farming experience, a number of new farm sets are now available in the LEGO CITY line. Sets like 60345 Farmer’s Market Van even include a number of new corn elements to add to your collection.
