Vision confirmed to return in his own Marvel TV series
Marvel Studios has hired a showrunner for a TV show starring Paul Bettany as Vision once more, in the second confirmed WandaVision spin-off.
In an exclusive report from Variety, it’s reported that Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas will head up a show that brings about the return of Vision. Due for release in 2026, Paul Bettany, who voiced Jarvis and later played Vision, is believed to be making a return.
The last time Marvel fans saw Vision, he had been semi-resurrected by his wife Wanda in WandaVision after an untimely death at the hands of Thanos. S.W.O.R.D. then actually resurrected his body (or vibranium husk more like), creating White Vision. Vision and White Vision had an aerial throwdown that resulted in White Vision fleeing – and he hasn’t been seen since.
Presumably, this new show will follow White Vision now that Wanda has put her resurrected husband to bed once again. At the end of WandaVision, White Vision was struggling with his place in the world, unsure of his identity or allegiances. This will be the second WandaVision spin-off, with Agatha All Along premiering later this year – although it’s worth noting that in the wild west of streaming, the show could still be subject to change or even cancellation.
While there’s still quite a bit of time to wait until the new Vision show, this does offer hope of a second chance at getting the White Vision minifigure, a favourite of many in 2021’s LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71031 Marvel Studios. Vision has a track record of impressive minifigures, with his phasing version making a splash in 76269 Avengers Tower as well. If a new show means sets with these minifigures returning or even new iterations of everyone’s favourite synthezoid, they’d be a welcome addition to the LEGO Marvel theme.
