WATCH: LEGO Ideas 21338 A-Frame Cabin has an unusual reference

It’s no surprise that LEGO sets include Easter eggs, but 21338 A-Frame Cabin connects to an Ideas project that was never made.

Not only does 21338 A-Frame Cabin reference other existing LEGO Ideas sets, but an odd Easter egg to an unapproved project has been spotted in the fan-inspired creation. You can find out more by watching our new YouTube and TikTok video, embedded below.

The reference in question is to another of Andrea Lattanzio’s projects on the LEGO Ideas platform, but one that was never approved to be a set – Santa’s Cottage from the first 2022 LEGO Ideas review.

The main image for the submission is the inspiration for the artwork hanging above the bed, but instead depicting a blue abode with a blue car. However, everything else matches up exactly.

LEGO A-Frame Cabin references an Ideas project that was never made

This could be explained as an Easter egg left in by the design team, recognising Lattanzio as a user with another project up for consideration during the development of 21338 A-Frame Cabin. It may have been that with one set already being designed, the chances of another model for Lattanzio were slim, so the team recognised their efforts with this Easter egg instead. The reasoning behind the reference is unclear, but it’s no less interesting.
