What could a LEGO Marvel Spider-Man helmet look like?

Rumours of a LEGO Marvel Spider-Man mask set may present an interesting challenge for LEGO designers to properly depict the hero’s head.

According to a new LEGO Marvel rumour from brick_clicker, via 1414falconfan, 76285 will reportedly be a Spider-Man helmet or bust for $69.99, possibly putting it in the same collection of sets as 76251 Star-Lord’s Helmet and 76165 Iron Man Helmet.

However, the intricate design of Spider-Man’s red and black mask may make it a more challenging item of clothing to recreate out of bricks than the other LEGO Marvel head models. Thankfully, a couple of fan-made builds have already tackled the challenge.

Breaaad‘s custom design from 2021 opts for a more detailed model, layering red and black bricks on the front and sides for a more complicated model, but one that approaches the design of Spider-Man’s mask in traditional LEGO fashion.

Alternatively, glenn_tanner55‘s helmet, which is a modification of 76199 Carnage, uses a much more familiar design for the LEGO helmets but one that ultimately features almost none of the black detailing that you would expect from a Spider-Man mask set.

However, this is only because the custom creation is bereft of printing (or stickers to achieve the same effect), which could and have accommodated the black lines before in 31209 The Amazing Spider-Man. Even the base for this build, 76199 Carnage featured a plethora of stickers to add black details to the primarily red character.

Carnage may be the best example of how Spider-Man could be depicted as a LEGO helmet unless the design team would be willing to experiment with the classic LEGO helmet experience. For now, this rumour has yet to be officially confirmed and all reported information should be taken until the LEGO Marvel 2024 sets have been officially confirmed.

Those looking for a displayable LEGO Spider-Man set in the meantime may want to turn their attention towards 31209 The Amazing Spider-Man or 76226 Spider-Man Figure.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
