LEGO brick Easter Rising now on display
The General Post Office in Ireland is hosting a 50,000 LEGO brick re-creation of the 1916 Easter Uprising. Paul Derrick is responsible for the model, commemorating 100 years since the historic event.
Paul was intent on the build not taking sides, just reflecting events that occurred with as much historical accuracy as possible. He was keen to represent the event to a younger generation, even enlisting his own children to help construct the model — which led to a greater curiosity about Irish history, as the builder had hoped.
Visitors to the General Post Office in Ireland can see the build on display.
