Brick_Clicker has provided an update to the previously rumoured 42146 Liebherr LR 13000, which was last said to cost €449.99. The rumoured model is reported to be coming in August 2023 but at a new price. The source mentions it as 42156 Liebherr LR 13000 but previous rumours had it as 42146 so this seems likely to be a typo.
The price has reportedly been increased from $450 to a massive $680 in light of the price increases in 2022. Provided that’s accurate, that would make it $280 more expensive than 42131 Cat D11 Bulldozer and hold the title of most expensive LEGO Technic set ever.
For that cost, you might expect the rumoured set to include a great many pieces and it only needs more than 3,854 to make it the biggest LEGO Technic set by brick count too. However, previous reports placed it at only 2,883 though that might include motorised elements.
The real Liebherr 13000 is the most powerful conventional crawler crane in the world and has a maximum hoist height of 236 metres, so the rumoured build could be considerably tall (though probably not quite exactly to scale).
The unfortunate update and all unconfirmed information are still rumours at the time of writing, so we’d advise taking everything mentioned with caution. Here’s a guide to the currently rumoured LEGO Technic sets.
