Ed Sheeran donates LEGO sets to Laxfield School LEGO Club
Celebrity LEGO fan Ed Sheeran has donated LEGO sets to a school’s LEGO club.
All Saints Primary School in Laxfield, Suffolk, UK, has a LEGO club that is so popular there is a waiting list for pupils to join. When Teaching Assistant Ria Cox, who organises club, spotted the LEGO House singer in a pub, she wrote a note and passed it to him.
The East Anglian Daily Times reports that the note said: “From looking at Google, I can see that among your honours you can’t count being El Presidente of a school Lego club. We would love for you both to be ours.”
Sheeran’s office e-mailed to apologise for his commitments not permitting him to become involved as the club’s president, but did send a box of brand new LEGO sets with a note reading: “Hope the children love the Lego – love Ed and Cherry.”
“We are so grateful for the kind gesture from Ed and Cherry, it’s given the pupils lots of confidence and has definitely made them more excited,” said Ms Cox.
Last year, the musician sold off some of his LEGO collection to raise money for charity.
