Life-size LEGO The Batman Movie Statue at San Diego Comic Con
Batman has been re-created from LEGO bricks to be displayed at San Diego Comic Con — specifically the Batman minifigure from The LEGO Batman Movie (TLBM). As LEGO Dimensions made a point of, there are two Batmen in LEGO — the movie one, and the… other one. You can tell them apart thanks to moulded utility belt that TLBM Batman wears, and that in this model he’s self-aggrandising enough to be carrying a microphone.
CNET has an exclusive first look at this impressive life size model:
In celebration of next year’s “The Lego Batman Movie,” Lego has constructed a 286-pound Batman statue for the con’s Warner Bros. booth. It stands at approximately 6.9 feet (2.1 meters) tall, 4.8 feet (1.5 meters) wide and is made up of a whopping 53,998 Lego bricks.
Creating the breakout star from 2014’s “The Lego Movie” took the Danish toy company’s master builders a total of 385 hours to design and build the model.
Expect to see more from The LEGO Batman Movie following the San Diego Comic Con panel this weekend.
