Third Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man movie should have ‘profound impact’ on the MCU

The director of Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania has shared how the film will impact the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania will be the second Marvel Studios project after Loki to explore Kang the Conqueror and his many variants when the movie releases on February 17, 2023. Given that one of the upcoming Avengers movies is titled The Kang Dynasty, it seems safe to say that this character is going to be monumental to the MCU’s story.

Peyton Reed, director of the Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel, has provided more details on the film including how impactful he believes the film will be in the future as well as exploring the differences between this movie and Loki’s Kang.

“I think it has a profound impact on the MCU,” Reed told Empire. “Jeff Loveness, who wrote this movie, is writing The Kang Dynasty as well, so there’s been a lot of discussion about the impact that this appearance of Kang the Conqueror makes. There are big things in store.”

“Kang the Conqueror in our movie is a very different character. He’s someone who has dominion over time, and he’s a warrior and a strategist. That’s interesting to me: to take the tiniest, and in some people’s minds weakest, Avenger, and put them up against this absolute force of nature.”

Rumours for an Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania have previously surfaced and though it has yet to be confirmed, a Kang minifigure in the future seems likely given the LEGO Group’s history with Marvel Studios and past Marvel Cinematic Universe models.
