The LEGO Group celebrate Harry Potter Anniversary with a free gift

The LEGO Group have announced plans to give away a gift to anyone who loves Harry Potter visiting one of the iconic filming locations.

It has recently been the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which originally premiered on November 16, 2001. To mark the occasion, anyone able to make it to King’s Cross Station today will get a free gift from the LEGO Group.

The giveaway will last until the end of November 17 and so might not be accessible to anyone not travelling or living within the surrounding area. The significance of this location, for those unaware, is that it was the home of the magical entrance to platform nine and three quarters in a wall between platforms nine and ten of King’s Cross Station.

It’s not specified exactly what the gift is, with previous giveaways including a free polybag at showings of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the massive Magical Mystery Hunt which took place across the UK.

The announcement on Facebook also doesn’t clarify where the gift can be redeemed, though a shop for the franchise is located at the station.

Anyone not able to make it to King’s Cross Station before the end of the day can still get involved with the celebrations for LEGO Harry Potter’s anniversary on the official store thanks to the massive 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition (review).

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
